Taking care of your product

Leather has continuously been the image of quality and extravagance. It may be a strong fabric of exceptionally higher quality than leatherette or other synthetic alternatives.

Nonetheless, it isn't indestructible and has its life span. As a normal fabric, it can alter over time, depending on how you treat it, might loosen up or pick up a unique patina, which is characteristic of normal leather and isn't a valid reason for complaint.

Types of leather from which we produce our products:

a) Sateen (smooth) leather - leather with a finely structured surface with small pores. The surface can be processed in a matte or glossy finish in various designs. The leather has its fine protective layer and is pre-dyed and treated. Remove dirt from this material with a suitable brush or soft damp cloth and wipe dry. Use leather care products, not shoe products. Excessive care, such as neglect, can damage the product.

b) Sateen leather without a protective layer - Leather without this layer is more susceptible to the environment. It is a delicate material, but it retains its natural appearance. A product made of such leather acquires an interesting patina over time. The surface reacts to external factors, and these reactions are not subject to complain.

c) Varnished (lacquered) leather - calfskin that has been treated with varnish, which gives it a smooth, glossy finish. This fabric is exceptionally vulnerable to mechanical harm, chemicals, dampness, and ice. To clean it, utilize a lightly damp cloth and avoid detergents completely.

d) Nubuck, velour, suede - Soft "hairy" leather, gained by splitting from full-grain leather. To clean it, use a brush with rubber fibers and products designed for nubuck/velour/suede. We recommend saturating these sorts of handbags before use to help protect them from moisture, which would otherwise leak into it.

Textile products are not suitable for rainy weather use. Do not wash such products in the washing machine, as this may damage metal components.

Maximum load of our bags:

  • 0.5 kg (1.1 lbs) - envelope and special-occasion handbags
  • 2 kg (4.4 lbs) - other regular handbags
  • 3 kg (6.6 lbs) - backpacks
  • 5 kg (11 lbs) - travel bags

The DOs and DON'Ts of leather items:

  • DON'T overload your leather bags, as it may cause cracks in the material, rip off the seams, or damage the metal components. Deterioration of the product caused by overloading will not be accepted in your warranty claims, as it violates the principle of expedience.
  • DO protect your leather items from mechanical harm, especially scratching. Keep in mind that your item can get scratched even by other clothing items (e.g. zippers, belts, watches), or objects you daily interact with (furniture, walls...).
  • DO try to minimize the contact of your leather items with perfumes and perfumed products, as they can seep into the leather's pores and create permanent stains.
  • DON'T keep your leather items out in direct sunlight for too long. It can cause bleaching on the color.
  • DON'T hang or dry your leather items too close to a heat source. If your item gets wet, gently wipe it and let it dry naturally.
  • DON'T use chemicals, detergents, solvents, or bleaches to clean your leather items - they could damage the protective surface layers of the material. In case your item gets very dirty, take it to a dry cleaner that specializes in leather instead of cleaning it yourself.
  • DON'T keep your leather items out in the snow, rain, or extreme temperatures. Protect them from grease and dirt.
  • We DON'T recommend wearing dark-colored velour/suede items with light clothing, as it might transfer some color.

Caring for leather products combined with denim can be a little more challenging as the two materials may have different cleaning and maintenance needs. Here are some tips on how to care for them:

  1. Precautions: before wearing the product for the first time, it is advisable to apply a protective product on the skin to protect against moisture and stains. For denim parts, you can use an impregnating spray to protect against moisture and dirt.
  2. Cleaning the skin: If stains appear on the leather, clean them with a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water and a mild detergent designed for leather. Then allow the product to air dry, out of direct sunlight.
  3. Cleaning denim: You can clean the denim parts with a brush or damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. If necessary, you can also use a special denim cleaner.
  4. Protecting leather from water: leather parts should not be soaked in water as this can cause damage to the material. In case of rain or wet conditions, you can use a waterproofing spray to protect against moisture.
  5. Maintaining the shine of the skin: You can use a special leather conditioner to restore the shine of your leather. Apply it thoroughly according to the instructions on the packaging and then wipe gently with a clean cloth.
  6. Try a professional: If you are worried or unsure of how to proceed, don't hesitate to contact us or another professional. A specialist shop or craftsman can give you advice and help with the maintenance of your combination leather products.

The care of combination leather products with denim is important to maintain their quality and appearance. With regular maintenance and using the right products, you should keep your products in good condition for a long time.
